Hello!

Storytelling, no matter the medium, is crucial my to creativity. Often, I write in vignettes or paint in the abstract as a way to suggest rather than to reveal. The stories, though they may be told from the perspectives of fictional characters or with obscure shapes, are all authentic to my soul. I crave authenticity. I cannot create what I do not feel, nor can I pretend to feel a certain way. My inspiration is often fickle and, more than enough, I am looking for it rather than basking in it.

My mother used to hear me sing from the baby monitor and then when I learned to speak, but could not yet write, I would dictate stories to her. I studied classical vocals for twelve years, competing in state competitions and participating in various select choirs. I graduated from Purchase College in May 2020, where I chose to pursue the humanities rather than the arts as a way to stoke a more intellectual sense of creativity. I received a degree in history with a concentration in Jewish studies. I wrote, recorded, and independently released three albums during my time at Purchase: Florá, Evergreen, and Not Every Garden Is Eden.

I live in Brooklyn now and I am working on my first poetry collection, Cutting Ginger Against the Grain.
